We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize data pipelines and infrastructure within a cloud environment. This role will be central to developing reliable data products, ensuring data quality, and supporting both batch and real-time systems. It’s a great fit for someone who wants to stay hands-on with modern tools while also moving towards technical leadership.

 

What You’ll Do

 

Create and maintain scalable ETL/ELT workflows using Databricks and PySpark

Optimize storage and processing with formats such as Delta and Parquet

Build monitoring, alerting, and quality checks to ensure data reliability

Automate workflows with Airflow and Infrastructure-as-Code practices

Collaborate with ML Engineers and Data Scientists to support MLOps pipelines

Partner with product owners to design reusable, trusted data assets

Take part in architecture reviews and contribute to platform evolution

Mentor other engineers and promote coding and design best practices

Required Skills

 

• 4+ years in data engineering, with strong Python and SQL skills
• Solid expertise with Spark and Databricks in cloud platforms (preferably Azure)
• Hands-on experience building ETL/ELT pipelines with Delta Lake and Avro
• Knowledge of Airflow, Azure Data Factory, or similar orchestration tools
• Familiarity with streaming technologies like Kafka or EventHub
• Strong understanding of data modeling, partitioning, and query optimization
• Experience in CI/CD and workflow automation

 

Nice to Have

 

• Exposure to data governance tools (e.g., Unity Catalog)
• Familiarity with monitoring platforms such as Prometheus or Datadog
• Experience supporting MLOps and model monitoring in production
• Knowledge of BI integration and dashboarding tools such as Power BI
