Senior QA Director

Software Multinational Company

Location: Barcelona (hybrid 40%)

Conditions: up to 135K + 15% variable + Benefits + Perks

 

Role Summary

  • Partner with Product, Engineering, and Business leaders to deliver innovative solutions that enhance both client and internal user experiences.
  • Work with stakeholders across product strategy, development, and client engagement to bring the product vision to life.
  • Lead the definition and execution of a comprehensive software quality strategy aligned with the organization’s priorities.
  • Guarantee high standards in product performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Champion best practices in automation, continuous integration and deployment, test data strategy, and defect reduction.
  • Create and maintain quality metrics, KPIs, and dashboards to support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Explore and implement modern testing tools, platforms, and frameworks to support efficiency and scalability.
  • Proactively manage quality-related risks and collaborate across departments to develop mitigation approaches.
  • Foster a culture of engineering excellence, ownership, and quality-first mindset.
  • Effectively operate within a distributed work environment, coordinating with global teams across time zones.
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships, influencing decisions and alignment across teams and leadership.
  • Inspire and lead high-performing, engaged teams while nurturing a creative, inclusive, and positive workplace culture.
  • Provide coaching and leadership to team members, monitoring engagement and helping prioritize effectively.

 

Required Background

  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline; an advanced degree is preferred.
  • At least 10 years of leadership experience in customer-centric software development environments.
  • Proven track record (15+ years) of delivering software solutions in roles such as developer, team lead, technical manager, or architect.
  • Demonstrated success managing large, diverse, and geographically distributed technical teams.
  • Strong capabilities in leadership, project planning, time management, and issue resolution.
  • Deep knowledge of test automation, performance validation, security assurance, and quality standards.
  • Experience with cloud-native systems, microservices design, and modern DevOps workflows.
  • Strong grasp of Agile methodologies and a history of scaling them in enterprise settings.
  • Comfortable getting involved in technical problem-solving when necessary.
  • Passionate about artificial intelligence and its role in accelerating product innovation.
