Role Summary

The selected candidate will contribute to the delivery of efficient, secure, and scalable IT infrastructure services. This includes responsibilities across Linux server and network administration, cloud infrastructure management, database support, and hosted systems maintenance. Additionally, the role involves providing limited on-site technical support (e.g., laptops/helpdesk) at the Barcelona office.

Their primary objective will be to ensure that IT infrastructure is robust, adaptable, and aligned with evolving business needs. The role demands a strong client-service mindset to maintain operational excellence, meet performance expectations, and deliver results within defined budgets and timelines.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and maintain services related to the Linux platform, ensuring availability and performance across environments.
  
• Deploy and manage production runtime environments for critical systems and applications.
  
• Analyze and resolve failures and performance issues in systems, databases, applications, and networks.
  
• Collaborate with software engineers and business stakeholders throughout product development, testing, and deployment lifecycles to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  
• Proactively engage in discussions and propose solutions for performance tuning, data backup strategies, and infrastructure optimization.
  
• Execute testing and performance tuning on Linux systems, application services, and database operations.
  
• Work with department managers to establish, document, and refine technical standards and best practices.
  
• Complete technical tasks and assignments in alignment with department priorities and timelines.
  
• Address basic hardware and software troubleshooting, including laptops and local network components in the Barcelona office.
  

 

Required Qualifications and Skills

• A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related technical field.
  
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in IT infrastructure or systems administration.
  
• Fluent in English, both written and verbal, with strong communication and presentation skills.
  
• Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and independent thinking in technical contexts, combined with a collaborative team mindset.
  
• Hands-on expertise in Linux administration, including system maintenance, performance monitoring, and error resolution.
  
• Solid understanding of networking concepts, as well as experience with the configuration and operation of network services in a Linux environment.
  
• Proficient in at least one scripting language such as Shell, Perl, Python, or PHP.
  
• Familiarity with load balancing, high availability setups (e.g., dual-machine hot standby), and automated deployment solutions.
  
• Experience working on cloud infrastructure, particularly with Amazon AWS or AliCloud platforms.
  
• Working knowledge of AWS services such as AWS Config, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, GuardDuty, and EKS.
  
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
  
• Capable of maintaining and optimizing MySQL databases, including replication and load balancing strategies.
  
• Experience in Windows OS installation and setup for laptops and end-user systems.
  
• Understanding of performance tuning and troubleshooting for major big data technologies, such as Hadoop, Hive, Kafka, Elasticsearch, Zookeeper, or Spark.
  
• Comfortable working occasionally outside of standard office hours, depending on operational demands.
  
• AWS certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator) are considered an asset.
  
• Proven ability to work within diverse, global teams, engaging with colleagues across different geographies.
